sulonorth is a Helsinki-based language localization company founded by Alina Lehtinen-Vela in 2019.
Alina grew up in Finland’s Häme region and in the capital, Helsinki. She studied Scandinavian languages at the University of Helsinki. Afterwards she spent a decade as a ‘digital nomad’ working in localization, journalism, and marketing while traveling. She lived mainly in Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and the United Kingdom. Her writing has appeared in Mondo, Keskisuomalainen, Turun Sanomat and Etelä-Suomen Sanomat.
Consider sulonorth your one stop shop for everything English to Finnish and Finnish to English.

sulonorth also writes a monthly newsletter on Finland and the Nordics. The goal is to explore questions related to Nordic Europe. Do you want to know why Northern Europe is one of the most prosperous and progressive regions of the world? What are the Nordics doing right, and not so right? How can you survive and thrive while living and doing business in the north?
Of course there’s plenty of linguistic tips. Want to know why Finnish is so difficult to learn? Sign up for the newsletter today!
